Corporate Social Responsibility

What can be recycled will be recycled! All cardboard boxes and packaging material will be re-used by us and any excess packaging and boxes are passed on to local business: Christine Cummings Ceramics for their use.  We haven’t bought a box in the last 5 years! Think Green!

Where possible, deliveries due within the same month are combined. This reduces carriage charges as well as fuel costs and CO2 emissions. _

Our office is not lit or heated at night in fact we have reduced our electric lighting by 50%.  All appliances are switched off out of office hours and only one oil filled radiator is used for heating.

 

Pay it forward.....

We give monthly financial support to NW Air Ambulance, NGR and Sightsavers International which are charities close to our hearts.  We also help our local primary school with discounted IT equipment and their battery recycling scheme which enables them to raise additional school funds.

We have sent educational equipment and stationery to Bijilo Lower School in the Gambia - linked with Southlands High School in Chorley.

Every year Julie runs (ok, walks!) Race for Life in Preston to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

 

Deliveries

Punctuality is key!  Our aim has always been to be 100% reliable.  If we say it, we mean it. We will always do our best to achieve anything we promise.  In addition to this, our locality means that we can often deliver in-stock items same day for no extra charge.  Our current charge is £7.50 per delivery.  We believe this is very competitive and helps to keep your additional purchasing costs down.  If requested we will label products with your own part numbers.  We have a long established relationship with FedEx and two private couriers so we’ll be able to get it to you wherever you are!  

Quality

Only the best will do!  As a distributor we take quality and conformity very seriously.  Where possible we only buy from franchised dealers.

 If manufacturers’ lead times make this impossible we will not charge you a penny until you are completely satisfied with the goods. 

All parts are fully traceable to the supplier and / or manufacturer and have been processed fully within our suppliers’ quality management systems. 

Stock

Have you got any…?  We will always endeavor to keep key lines in stock to avoid stoppages. Where lead times are a problem we will hold stock on call off order for up to 12 months.  For kitting jobs we also offer a batch call off service meaning you don’t need to worry where the next build is coming from!  When obsolescence throws a spanner in the works, we will work with you to source a viable alternative product at the very best price.  On the cable side of the business, we hold stocks of silicone and HRPVC meaning that cut cable lead times can be kept to a minimum.

Smoking

Nasty habit!  No smoking is allowed anywhere on our 2.5 acre site.

Pets

Pets are known to reduce levels of the human stress hormone Cortisol. Four legged friends are welcome here so please advise of any allergies if you are planning a visit!

Dress Code

Be comfortable while you work.  No jacket required, in fact it’s usually jeans and a t-shirt round here. Safe comfortable shoes are a must with heavy boxes around so no stilettos please gents!

Language barriers

Not everyone wants to speak English, it’s a fact! With a bit of notice we can arrange for you to speak to our lovely translator who is fluent in French and Italian and will give Spanish a go too!
